A child’s growth and development depend in part on their ability to move their body freely because that is how they learn about the world. If your child has trouble with movement, our physical therapists can help! We use proven and fun techniques to build gross motor skills like balance, coordination, and strength so your child can explore and play with ease. We also offer specialized treatment such as the Universal Exercise Unit, serial casting, and the Hypervibe to ensure that your child experiences the most cutting-edge treatment available.
Although children don’t have careers, they do have occupations—the tasks and activities they take part in every day. If your child struggles with self-care, sensory processing, playing, self-feeding, picky eating, going to school, or any other part of their daily life, our occupational therapists can help! We use play-based activities and exercises to build the skills your child needs for improved confidence and independence. We also offer the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP), a music-based intervention that helps children overcome sensory processing challenges.
The ability to communicate is vital for many areas of a child’s development, including their ability to make friends and do well in school. If your child has trouble with speech, sharing their ideas, understanding others, or reading comprehension, our speech-language pathologists can help! We use specialized therapeutic activities such as the Beckman Oral Motor and SOS Approach to Feeding to build speech, language, and feeding skills for your child’s lifelong success.
As part of our commitment to empowering families, we host monthly support groups for parents and other family members of children with Down syndrome and spina bifida. Our volunteers will take care of your child so you can meet with other parents who understand the challenges your family experiences.
